25-45 Sharps

Is anyone else sporting this caliber? I built one as a starter hunting rifle, but it shoots so well I'm considering trying my highest magnification scope on it and see how she does at long range (with the right bullet).

Me too. Different reason though. What the heck is a 25-45? I assume it's an old black powder cartridge with a .25 caliber bullet and 45 grains of black powder, but I've never heard of it before.

The name is deceiving, But I guess they went that route, due to it being made by Sharps.

Think .25"x45mm.

It's a .223 based .25 caliber. Made by Sharps Rifle Co.
87gr pill. Uses standard ar components, other than barrel.

I came across this a year or so ago, while researching their Relia Bolt. I think it was just after SHOT 2014.

I've been working some loads with 100gr bullets, and have been very impressed so far.

I guess this is one caliber that hasn't caught on with you guys yet.
