I can't explain it without being inappropriate. It's a term created by some rapper and the joke was the juxtaposition with the wholesome Golden Girls' names.

Well, my wife called me bawling today on my way home because the neighbor's dog got under the fence and killed the chicken in front of everyone. Wife was supposed to bring more chickens home today, but it didn't work out.
I spent 3 of the last four days working outside all day in sub-zero temps to get everything suitable. Guess I didn't plug up the fence good enough. I've already spoken with the neighbor. Backyard chicken experiment is temporarily on hold.

That's why we don't have chickens anymore. I had to come home from work to finish off what the other chickens had started.

    Tough luck man.

Well, it was a dual purpose bird for eggs and meat. I told my daughter, if we're going to have dead chickens, I want it to be because I killed them.

Sorry to hear that man. Looks like you put a lot of effort into the hen.

Yeah I did. That's okay because I've got my feet wet, and now I can go back and do some stuff better with less pressure. I'll bump the thread again when things start moving again.

Sorry to hear about that. There is always a possibility something will try to harm them. Our dogs and cat watch over the hens, but not 24/7.

I'm so sorry. That totally sucks.

Do you already hunt? Just asking as far as the plan of trying to do meat/eggs. If you havn't butchered before, might find yourself surprised and unable to do it. Mine was only an egg operation, so I don't know. But I would also figure if you are trying to do any kind of meaningful meat "income" that would mean quite a few birds to get any kind of cycle of new layers and old barren bbq chickens.
