    Default Precision rifle smith

So I'm a fng when I comes to precision rifles. I'm in the process of moving into a position of using a bolt gun for work. I have a savage fp-10 that I have had for about 9 years. I'm choosing to do some work on it instead of buy a new rifle. I just bought a B&C stock and a cdi bottom metal for it.

I would like to get the rifle accurized and make sure everything is squared away on it. Can you guy refer a good smith in CO?

Not much to really do to a Savage, much better QC than the R brand out of the box. The floating bolt head pretty well negates the need for traditional "truing" of the action.
Invest in a good barrel, hang a Timney trigger on it, bed it, cut the stock for the bottom metal, put quality glass on it and go shoot it. It will far surpass your ability for a long, long time. A heavier recoil lug and a better barrel nut are also good upgrades.
We can do the work if you wander this way.
If you want to stay on your side of the divide look up Greg Tannel of GreTan Rifles.
He is in Eagle or Rifle IIRC.

+1 on Greg Tannel if you want to stay on the other side of the divide. He used to live up North here. Heck of a good guy and fantastic smith.

    Question

Anyone close to us around the Denver area? I have a trued action done by LRI, and just picked up kreiger blank. Still need a heavy recoil lug if anyone has one. So I need someone to fit the tennon threads, chamber it, and thread it for my can. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open. Thanks.

Bert is this something your into?

Thanks for all the help. I ended up sending it to BPTactical since I have had great experiences with him.

Yep, got a build up there with Adam now. Was seeing if anyone could just barrel the action fairly quickly is more what I'm after.
