Plastic knife from gunshow, doesn't show up on metal detector s. Sand it a bit and it is reasonably sharp.

Key shaped knife, works well, $7 at Walmart. Name brand escapes me at the moment.

That reminded me of the Swiss Tech key multitool, it has a small "blade" as well. I like the SOG one as well, and it's $12 on Amazon...

Maybe something like this, you'd have to test it against a detector but there's a good chance it would go through. Probably even a better chance with a less reputable company.

Just to clarify, you ate liking for actual cutting ability, as opposed to just a personal defense item right OP?

    Yes, utility.

And not so much sneaking it in, as it not being immediately obvious as a "weapon" and possible hidden within my other gear. The key tool/knifes are probably the best option.

From what I've heard, plastic. knife/blades can be detected. "Tactical" pens may be the best way to go. Lake Side, I'd be sporting something.

A small knife tucked in the camera gear may be the way to go.
