Psh. When I'm stressed, I watch violent movies or go to the range. If I need some futzy stuff to calm me down, I can knit, sew or any number of crafty stuffs. No color books for me.

I did get one for my Mom, and she likes it because of the detailed patterns.

I got a Dillion 650 press and a Magneto chrono from mom and dad. My kids made out like bandits from all the grand parents.

Please, I'm a bit of a dummy when it comes to this stuff. What am I looking at? I get that it's a laptop connected to...something, and a stereo receiver...but what is it for? What does it do? What's the little black box with the bright light?

As always my wife is really good to me for Christmas. I got a Vortex range finder this year and a few other items. The best is watching my 2 year old play with this remote control jeep thing. It's awesome.

I hate to derail, but every year we have my family over for breakfast. My brother and his wife and two kids (3 and 5) are just nightmares. Every time they are over the little boy does something like kick someone's grandparent and he spit my wife's grandmother's face a few months ago when my boy turned 2. I just can't believe my brother allows such disrespect and does nothing about it when told about this stuff.

Then my wife's 14 year old cousin just so rude to everyone and loud at dinner constantly demanding things from his mother and father and interrupting conversation. Pretending to his mother is my favorite because I say something and now I'm the one that needs to calm down. What is the deal with this? Does anyone else have these awesome Christmas issues?

That sucks you have to deal with those types of issues. My kid's survival instincts were far too strong for them to even consider behaving like that. Course, at that stage it's probably the parents that need a beating.

Looks to me like a 2007 Macbook Pro music/video server. Aune T1 DAC. 1979 Yamaha CA=810 integrated amp. I thought everyone knew that...

(I got the description from the Pics of Latest Purchase thread...I didn't know either)

^^This. We dealt with this with my SIL (22 years old) last year. I politely told her that I will not allow that sort of behavior around my kids in the future. If she doesn't like that, then she should get good at writing letters, because that's as close as she'll get. She clammed up and has just given me dirty looks every time I've seen her since then. If dirty looks is the price to pay, I will gladly pay it for my kids to have better role models in their lives.
