Thanks a ton for not buying it!lol. I already am in love with it. I've never been a fan of light triggers on a combat handgun and I don't feel that my particular gun is too light by any means. It's averages on my gauge at 4.5lbs which is lighter than my other pistols but still very useable. It is really ergonomic without a doubt. That's weird about yours not shooting aluminum cases as mine shot them just fine. I shot brass, and aluminum without issue. I never shoot steel in my pistols though so I can't speak to that.
Okay, I shot both of my Walther PPQ's today. (9 and 40). The light/short reset trigger was conducive to many surprises shooting at plates. A LOT of un-intentional double taps. I could get used to it again, I guess. I haven't shot them in well over a month.
I'm thinking a little more weight on the trigger, and a bit more reset would fix that. Practice, too, would fix it. I shot my G19 second gen after that, and didn't have those issues, so apparently my body needs a bit more weight/reset to be comfortable. Or maybe practice? Yeah, could be that!
Has anyone shoot the PPQ M2 vs the HK VP9? They are both on my list for the next gun to pick up... But the HK seems to be calling my name if only because it's an HK.
I am a huge fan of both brands, and you're not going to go wrong with either one. My very first pistol was an H&P USP 45. I now own 5 Walther pistols. They just fit me perfectly. I am a fan of the paddle release, but I don't like the way Walther does theirs. All the M2's have button mag releases though. H&K have it just right. Love the triggers on the PPQs which is what first won me over.
Shoot both, and then decide.
And remember, there is a $100 rebate on most (but not all) Walther models right now. The PPQ M2 is included.
I've never used the paddle release, and had avoided it for years because I was shooting A LOT with the M&P and didn't want to swap over my technique. But now I hardly shoot much so swapping over to a paddle and ramping up my training would be pretty easy. My buddy has the PPQ M2 I can take to the range and rent a VP9 to compare it to.
