Woodbridge is the city south of me. It's very much suburban and sort of like Thornton or Northglenn. It's where they have the outlet malls and the one Ikea in Virginia. It's not the hood, but it's definitely "multicultural" and the sort of place where the Fed-state-local govs rabbithole many of the "refugees" they bring in. Like Northglenn, it's got those areas where they try and plunk down "low socioeconomic status" housing projects in the midst of otherwise middle class communities and then can't understand why the volume of police calls for service steadily increases and the middle class start moving out.

I also feel quite connected to the area as I lived in Alexandria for several years and often spend time in Springfield and Woodbridge.

The traffic is miserable right? Do you like Colorado much more? I sure miss it compared to nova. This place is a ticking time bomb.

Well I used to love Colorado a lot more. Our traffic is becoming a nightmare and the people are starting to suck. I remember waving at people and being polite and now everyone is rude, just like DC Metro

Pretty much! I haven't been happier since moving to Littleton, now I can just stay in my quiet little corner of the metro area, 5 miles from work, and I'm a happy camper.

It's a tragic story to hear. It's not the easiest pill to swallow that someone might try to kill you when you go to work.
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.

Dang, 20 years ago, Woodbridge was suburbia, lots of military families as the homes were affordable for the poor schmucks assigned to the Pentagon. It seems like anyone middle class in the DC area either bought 20-25 years ago (or more) or has to live 2+ hours outside the actual metro area ...

And all those families rent out those homes for $3k/mo to the newly stationed. The military-owner/military-renter market is Huge here and successful because of the general accountability/networking and being able to ask around about potential renters, especially among the commissioned officers.

I am glad we are honoring the Women/Men in blue, but there are just to many of these threads. Hoping for a lot less next year/soon. Until then, RIP.
