I've been hunting archery for over 20 years and never missed opening day yet until the last couple of years. But never fear we have plenty of time to get out there so I look at it like this. It's too hot right now anyways. If your lucky enough to get in to some Wapiti can you get it down before the meat goes bad? Sure it can be done but, I want to enjoy my hunting season and live to tell about it. I'am going to wait until it cools down a little bit before I go full bore. The last 10 days of the season for me seems to be the most productive and hopefully with the rut in full swing I'll wack something.
