When our contract is up, we plan on looking into a whole house antenna. We have netflix and VUDU and that's more than enough and the free broadcasting will fill in any gaps. We'll still have to pay for internet but overall, it'll be much cheaper.
If you're coming off of a dish then I have an antennae tip.
The previous owners of my house had one so there was a long coax cable running outside my house that connected to the coax network inside. I simply changed it from the side of the house to the roof and connected it to a $50 antennae. Now I get that signal to the living room and the bedrooms and there was almost no effort or complication on my part. If you have the groundwork already in your house don't let it go to waste.
The "k" is silent.

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."

Been network/cable free since 07 and haven't looked back. We do Netflix and that's it.
I have a Roku and pay $9 a month for Hulu. Another $9 a month for Netflix to stream shows and movies. An antenna for local channels.
make sure you get a decent router, too. i changed to a new one this year (AC standard) and new modem (comcast service) and haven't had a hiccup on any streaming on netflix or amazon.
