I had to take off a few panels in order to hide the rear cam wire, in addition to removing the rear taillight, cutting the power wire, and splicing it back together with the lead. The front wire was about 6 inches too short to simply tuck into the liner and around the dash, so that required me to use a piece a weed whacker line to fish the wire behind the dash, as I couldn't find my real fish tape.

Install took probably two hours as I wanted it to look nice and as inconspicuous as possible. All that said, a simple forward facing camera with a suction cup mount would be as easy to move as a windshield mounted GPS, as long a you didn't care about hiding the wire. Rear camera is held on with 3M tape so it can be mounted where ever you like. Once mounted, it rotates so it can be adjusted, even to see the interior of you wanted. Rear camera options to mirror, flip, or both (in case you mounted it upside down on accident) are only a few menu clicks away.
Oh, so the rear camera is a separate unit? I was thinking it was part of the mirror unit, two cameras on the thing, wondered how that worked. Don't know that I'd need a rear camera in my pickup anyway, but I like my backup cam. Would like a dash camera, but don't really want to cover up the OnStar controls on my mirror.
