Shooting Range sponsors?

This may be posted someplace on here and my search capabilities suck, but is there a shooting range sponsor team?

In in the off-road community, area Jeep clubs sponsor certain trails and do clean up/trail maintenance.

Do do we have something similar?

When I belonged to an actual Jeep club, we would clean up gun ranges as well (never made sense to me).

Reason I ask, went up to an outdoor range today that was pretty bad.

People have spear headed initiatives like this in the past. It didn't last much longer after the main guy doing the clean up was talking to some random shooter who said, "Oh, and you don't have to clean up any of your trash around here cause some guy comes every week and cleans it up for you!"

That was up at Squaw Pass about 5 years ago.

Take as many extra trash bags as you have room to haul out. You will have ZERO problems filling all of them.

Well that sounds familiar. One of the reasons I got out of sanctioned Jeep clubs. We were responsible for Rampart Range area, and sure as shit that involved the shooting area. I remember one weekend we hauled out four 18' trailer loads and several truck beds out of Rampart Shooting Range. The place actually looked pretty good. Three weeks later it was trashed again. I said never again.

Hate to to admit this on an active shooting forum, but I have never been so happy a shooting area was shut down.

Looks like I better get over going to club shooting ranges or indoor ranges. I can see this coming.

I usually bring a truck load of "whatever" to work and dump it there every time after a shooting session. They haven't said anything yet, so I will continue to do so until that gets the axe.

I remember one time at Rampart Range, there was around 6" of snow on the ground. I went up to shoot and got so pissed off at all the trash, I decided to have a rather large bon fire in the parking lot instead of shooting. Nobody showed up, and that fire was going for over 8 hours (just to get an idea of how many pallets and phone books were up there).

I just read the thread title and thought... If you are shooting range sponsors, won't that mean there won't be as many range sponsors?
