I've been looking at Amcrest as well but with this whole system:

They have a ton of positive reviews but I'd also like to hear from you real people if you have any insight into their quality.

Okay, I rechecked several times. The temperature range I am reading is for the base station. The camera operating temperature is down to 14 degree F. Not as cold as I would like but I think would suffice for most Colorado days and nights.
Just gonna mention Arlo agian.
I'll post this link to their site and some of my video for real world use.

So I'm back on the camera train. Looking to purchase and of course me being somewhat lazy like the idea of the Arlo, however not the idea of constantly changing batteries.
Another concern I have is the possibility of it getting hacked, what are your thoughts on that since it is wireless?
The website says temperature range on the low side is 32 degrees. Do you agree to that? Obviously a concern of mine in CO is that we do see much colder temperatures.
I'm not a technology guy, so reading the website I am confused about some things. Can you view your camera from your smart device as soon as you it gets detection or do you have to access the cloud first then view it? I realize it doesn't have not stop recording unless there is detection.
It's wireless. It's vulnerable.
Batteries would piss me off. If the base station gets turned off, loses power, your batteries die at a VERY fast rate (radios, unlinked, consume power like crazy).
32 Degrees isn't enough for outside here. Most of the camera's we use for our customers have heaters in the outdoor enclosures.
I can't answer your questions about viewing, but I am sure Jefe will chime in.
Pretty much nailed it.
Haven't had in cold weather and honestly didn't see that limit. I 'thought' I read below zero at some point. Initially I installed the camera inside in a window frame looking outwards. IIRC the motion didn't work and the clarity is what you'd expect of a camera looking outside through a window.
When you get a notification, you'll need to open the app and view it in the library. There is a delay from when it records until it's available for viewing in the library. You can always open the app and go to 'live' view and view your camera live. There is very little delay. About the same I've noticed in wired cameras. I would guess between a ¼ to ½ second.
Batteries are kinda a pain but it comes with the territory.
One of my daughters suiters came by and did a ding dong ditch. My daughter texted him about it and he denied doing it. I sent her the link to the video to send him. Then pulled it after about an hour which then sends you to a dead link.
I'd do it over again. So far, I'm happy for what I get for the money I paid. And it's easily expandable. Just need more power efficient cameras. It'll happen eventually.

That Arlo video looks great! I don't know if I'm super sold on the video just going to the cloud- I think I'd rather have it where I can... have it.
Do you get the 4-6 months out of your batteries like they say?
Closer to 4. But that camera is the busiest. I'm done w/ hard drives for storage. They're useless if stolen, unless you also have a cloud service, and only last a few years. They're constantly working, run hot and are noisy. You can download any video you want and store it. And their app for my phone works better than others I've used that have to access your hard drive to retrieve video.
