    Default Security Camera

I'm looking to get a security camera for my condo that I can view/manage remotely. I'm not willing to pay monthly/annual fee for cloud service.

Would prefer that I get motion alerts via text or app.

This one has good reviews on amazon but looks like it could be a lot of fake reviews: http://smile.amazon.com/Amcrest-ProH...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I know we have some home security guys on there... thoughts?

Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.

Stay far far far away from Foscam. I have 12 of them all junk and sitting on shelves. Their "support"/warranty is nonexistent and their software is horrible.

Moved everything to Dahua and couldn't be happier.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

I really like this one, would love to get some feedback from guys on here as well, rather than the reviews on Amazon by people whom I trust a lot less.

Preferably wireless but it can be wired to router if need be.
Can store data on SD card, I'm not at the condo all the time so I don't have a PC there.
Need to be able to see it remotely.

The thing that worries me most is that every single person on there posting a positive review is talking about how excellent their support is. If the product and software are well done, you shouldn't really need to contact support.

Good point. Looking through reviews it seems there are some compatibility issues with apple products. Well I have an iPhone, iPad, and we're about to purchase a Mac desktop, so I am guessing I would be irritated at the problems from that.

I have nightowl cameras, and you can set it up to view remotely if you wish. They are wired (and on a APC), so I don't need to worry about batteries or wireless network problems.
