you're in a new house you said, so clearly the yard isn't much (they never are nowadays)
landscaping isn't complex it's just hard work.
Do a couple nice simple things and make it easy to maintain and let it go.
if you really want more complex just try and get plans (pay for them).
I would then look at craigslist and see what you can find for people wanting to do side jobs. a new house lawn isn't going to be some 6 month project most of it should take a day or two. So maybe hire a guy to do a wall, another guy to do the sprinkler (which is the only tricky thing, don't hire a plumber, plumbers don't know DICK about sprinkler systems, just have the plumber do the backflow tap, but nothing else), another guy to do the lawn.
bilingual is probably a plus
or just hire a guy to help you do it on weekends. Let them do the heavy lifting and you'll get way more done.
