Getting spam from Tanner show - where did they get my address?

I just got my second spam from Tanner this week. I absolutely KNOW that I didn't give them my email address and I don't go to their monthly freak show. I'm absolutely baffled as to how they figured out how to spam me. Is anyone else here getting Tanner spam and how do you think they got my email address?

Have you given your email address to any other shooting-related group that might have passed it on or sold it to Tanner? Sign up for any newsletters or contests? It's pretty common for groups or businesses to buy sets of addresses from related organizations or websites.

Yeah, they probably bought a list from another firearms manufacturer, club or group that you belong to.

I had the same question. My current theory based on the timing is that Dudley did it. I was able to unsubscribe and haven't received any more spam from them.

I get shitloads of spam, and I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to unsubscribe from spam, because that just tells them your address is a good one, and here comes MORE spam!

Two words; Google Adsense.

Everything you do online is tracked by Google (and other companies) and that information is used to tailor advertising and spam to your tastes. Hell, I have some friends with an Alexa that have noticed if they talk about things they'll start getting spam related to that thing. They tested it by randomly saying the word "Barbados" a few times and within hours they started getting spam and ads online for "Travel to Barbados".

That's nothing! I was going to buy a book on ebay about UFO's and got the blue screen of death. By the time I recovered the system the book was gone from ebay. NSA crashed it? CIA? FBI? USAF Cyber Command? Spam is the least of my worries.
