Default Sweat and the AlienGear IWB Holster, pls share your experience.

So, I am going to buy one of their holsters.

I like the swappable shell program and the thicker kydex.

I am however unsure whether to buy the leather or the Neoprene backed version.

You see, I have a bad case of "old man syndrome": expanding gut and shrinking butt.
As a result, keeping my pants up can get challenging when I add the weight of a handgun.

Leather backed IWB holsters do help in that aspect, since they tend to stick to sweaty skin in the summertime, and help keeping the pants up, with everyone relief, I might add...

I am intrigued by the new 3.0, all synthetic, neoprene backed, steel core holsters, but I am afraid the neoprene may just get slippery over sweat.

Any first hand experience you care to share?

No problems with slippage when sweaty or wet on mine. A friend also has one and isn't a fan due to the cant and he feels it moves a bit much (he's a skinny assed white boy).
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

You guys don't wear an undershirt when carrying?

EDIT: Not exactly what you asked, and I'm not sure what type of belt loop options Alien Gear offers, but I've found that one velcro and one belt loop to be the best for dealing with multiple issues. The velcro keeps the holster from walking up and down the belt, and the belt loop (in the back) keep the holster from pulling free on a draw (as the velcro tends to weaken over time). Also, only a single solid belt loop is easier to be over looked than two belt loops.

    Thinking the same thing.

And thanks for the Alien Gear Question as I am in the market looking at one of these as well.

Law to the party on this, but have their leather and a Neoprene. Hands down like the leather better. Not as hot, forms the the body contour MUCH better and is all around more comfortable. The neoprene has spring steel in it that fights contouring and springs right back to being straight when removed to the belt. For me, this causes the holster to stick out away from the waist. Was annoying. However, just switched to the crossbreed super tuck as it's even more comfortable.

    3.0 Neoprene backed here.

You can bend the steel liner to a degree.

That said, I'm not real comfortable wearing mine without an undershirt as they rash the shit out of my fat, tender spare tire.

Skinny guys seem to love em.

In between skinny and fat. I like mine though sometimes think finding the perfect cant holster better as the adjustment the alien is more limited especially if you are trying to keep it higher or lower from the clips.

I hugely prefer to wear a wife beater with it. But that's trying to keep it from getting icky and ya it's slightly unpleasant on bare skin. But I'm happy since at the 3, shield disappears even with a fairly tight shirt.

I don't wear an undershirt and don't get rash or scuffs on my skin. I'm a fit build. No flab hanging over my belt. The alien gear is a great price for what you get and works. Make sure to loctite the screws. They back out. For me, the crossbreed super tuck with the combat cut is just much more comfortable. If somebody would like to purchase a alien neoprene for a g19, send me a pm. I will make ya a deal. It was used for 2 weeks. Not sweated on. Not smelly.

The Alien Gear is a pretty solid holster for the price. Have the leather IWB for my g19 with leather loops. Never really had issues with the Alien Gear. Loctiting the screws is a must. Also, the shell swap is an AWESOME benefit.

I recently got a Milt Sparks so I was thinking about selling the Alien Gear. I went to the website to look at the current prices/wait period so I could come up with a price. Once I got there, I saw a reminder about the shell swap benefit. Decided to keep it and swap the shell for a different pistol I just got that doesn't have a holster yet!!
