Looking for a machinist

I am looking for a machinist who can make me a couple of firing pins from scratch. I have all the measurements and a sample. Can either be old-school or new (CNC). Would prefer northern CO, but I can drive down to Denver. Curious if anybody has a good recommendation.

The long story: I have a Ruger 77/44 that is integrally suppressed. Ruger will no longer sell the firing pins for these guns separately, nor will they allow you to send the bolt. Ruger requires you to send the whole gun in for a $5 firing pin. While this is obnoxious for owners of stock guns, it is impossible for me. Ruger will not work on guns that have been substantially modified from factory form, and will not touch an NFA item not of their own making. Went down this road a year or so back. So now I need to have some pins made. - Fin -

Saw them on my search yesterday, and thinking about giving them a call. They do not list the 77/ series firing pin on their site, but one can always hope.

I sent an email to the guy who did my integral suppressor. He sends me a note back telling me "Any competent gunsmith can make you a firing pin". My first thought was "And you are...?"

Looks like you could whittle one out of a sixteen penny nail.

Just about. Only problem is that the shaft is eccentric to the head. The head is a semi-circle with the shaft at the top of the arch instead of the radius. Otherwise, I used a sixteen penny nail to help clean out the firing pin channel yesterday.

I asked my machine shop today and they recommended Colorado Screw Machine here in Loveland. They have the machines to do very small diameter stuff. Just across the street from us. Worth a shot maybe...
