This is what I am planning on doing. I foresee prices dropping significantly in the coming months.

This seems like the way to go. Maybe I can get an awesome price on an AK.

There are more than Executive Actions and Executive Orders that have regulated imports.
    It isn't even a single Gov't agency!
The VRA was authored by the Russians, as were its annexes.
OFAC is dealing with US sanctions imposed on the Russians because of their involvement in the Ukraine.
President Trump has a lot of big agenda items in his sights, unless he assigns a "special advisor" to track down all these detailed "fixes" and gets the Congress & Senate to approve the changes, I don't expect a better supply to become available.

Restoring the imports of US origin surplus will be an easier task!

Good to know. Thanks for the information on it. Honestly, even if AK's were to drop a little bit in price, I'd be thrilled. It's strange how "budget" AK's tend to cost more on today's market than most "budget" AR-15's. Honestly, If I'm looking for a quality AK, it's about the same price as buying an AR-10 (or LR-308). It would be great to see them drop a little bit in price. That way, I can live out my dream of yelling "For Mother Russia" in a poorly attempted Russian accent while smoking a cigar and firing from the hip. All joking aside, it would be nice to be able to get a rifle has been such a part of the world history.

Have you considered doing parkour on a 40 story building as a viable alternative?

I'd be more happy if there was no barrel ban for parts kits lol but I know there won't be days of building compliant aks on flats with original barrels for under 150$ again lol

I think the prices on many guns in general, specifically all foreign made ones, should be coming down substantially this year as stated previously. If the importation bans get shredded I'm hoping for prices on SKS's to come way down. Recently got interested in trying one but don't want to pay what they're asking when I used to see them for under $150.

As we experienced no laws or regulations regarding imports have changed.
    No staff at ATF changed.
The US DoS is leaderless (all top spots are filled with "acting" heads)
Hopefully next year is when we can effect change.
