Well, they are very different Basicly, in Finland at this time, gun laws are quite reasonable. You need to register all firearms etc and you need to tell police what are you going to do with that gun.

However, our gun licenses are not really based on laws. In Finland, it is the local police who makes those decisions. They even decide, what kind of firearm you may use. For example, no AR-15 rifles for hunting purposes. You may use your AR-15 for hunting, but you need to get license for different reason.

Finnish Police has made their own directions about who they give a license and what kind of license. Those directions are not based on law, and they conflict with the law.
We have tried to fight that off for years, with bad results

We found a nice apartment in Gunbarrel. Now I just need to wait for 90 days and I can buy some firearms

They may take your license(s) off, if you (for example) have 3 traffic speeding tickets during 2 years. Except, if you are a policeman, then you can drink & work and you wil propably get no penalty

Our parliament is right now processing our new gun law, which looks very bad I am afraid, our next gun law will be extremely bad

Well, what can you expect, if your presidents nickname is "Red"

Thanks. I don't want to say what I really think, but I wish you luck in your gun rights battle. I wish you strength and luck and I wish you fight them every step of the way and let no new law pass. You should give them hell for every inch (or metric) they want to take and nothing but love for every step they take back. That way they will see the best way to go is the only one to take.

Tell us when you move here, so we can get you a copy of the Constitution. We want you to understand our freedom the same way that we do.

Our sofa has already been moved, but you just earned your 12pack if you can point out a range which I could use

Interesting... We are now settling down in Gunbarrel. I think, after a week or two, we can start thinking also other things than furniture, buying a car etc.

Tarja "Red" Halonen as socialist and communist, both right. Unfortunately

Hey quick question. About how much usable meat would you get off an animal the size of the one in that first picture? For that matter, how big is an animal of that size?

That sounds good I already got used to local beer. BJ:s in Boulder has some really excellent beer.
This weekend, or next week ?

Weight of a roe deer is usually around 65 - 75 lbs. That one (male) weighed about 100 lbs, which is quite typical for healthy roebuck.

I once shot a roebuck and it weighed 123 lbs. I have never seen bigger than that, not even in Estonia.

Meat weight (roebuck in the picture) was some 25 pounds. Not very much
