To rent. Google says it’s hit or miss as to what they have and that there are considerable delays before they’re made available. That said, I think that’s the only legal option available.

You could sign up with his address that way the discs go straight to him, and when he's done he just drops them back in the mail and receives the next one a few days later. Again, this is assuming they're available.

Altered Carbon was awesome. Netflix should do more stuff like this and less Marvel crap.
