    Default Audi front pads

I have a B8 S5 that I'm going to be doing the brakes on. I just got the front pads delivered and this bracket was lying loose in the box because it fell off of one of the pads. Anyone know how I can secure it with just some household tools or should I just return them? The other pad is rock solid and that star cut retainer is damn near flat. This one I can easily pull off and that bracket wobbles freely. Obviously it wasn't pressed in nearly as well as the one that appears to be in good shape.

    Wait, you work on cars?

I would tap that retainer ring a little flatter, then press it on the pad. Maybe use a small socket as a punch around that center to press the retainer down (and in)

Only when I've spent too much money on guns...

That sounds like it might do the trick.

This. Take the plate off, flatten the retainer, and then put it back on using a socket just larger than the post.

You might even be able to just flatten the retainer while it is already over the post using a socket.

It's just a rattle clip. Nothing structural. Not going to be horrific if it isn't stuck right.
