    Default Competition rigs locally?

I shot in my first two competitions this weekend (Cha Lee's HPPS USPSA match at Ben Lomond and at the NoCo 3 Gun at Pawnee). I met my goal and wasn't disqualified (and actually didn't finish last, either!). So, i've got this bug now.

Anyway, i like to touch things, try them on, etc., before i buy them. Is there a local place that sells the competition inner/outer belts, competition holsters, 3-gun shotgun loaders, other mag holders, (and even competition guns)? And, by local, that's Cheyenne to Pueblo as I am often up and down the road and can stop in. Or, is this stuff mostly online? I know there's a competition holster maker in loveland/longmont (some damn place) but don't know if he has other stuff.

I was able to get by on the USPSA match with just a kydex holster and two mag carriers on a 5.11 belt, but for 3 Gun, (it seemed to me) you're not even in the same ballpark without some sort of loading system--i suppose that's what I'm after first, and a decent belt.

I don't know of anyplace locally, but if you ask shooters at events I am sure they would be more than glad to let you fondle their gear. I've got several rigs, if you see me at a match feel free to say hello and I'll let you check out what I have.

Just come to as many matches as you can and try to touch as much stuff and ask as many questions as you can.

Gear queers that have been around a long time (yes, me) always have lots of junk gathering dust and have went through a lot of stuff before they decided what works and what doesn't.

When you go to your next match just ask around. 3-gunners tend to be a friendly bunch of people and they tend to be happy to tell you all about what they have and what they've tried. Don't go blindly spending a bunch of money before you've shot a match or two.

This goes double for shotgun loading. There are a few products out there and personal preference goes a long way toward that decision. I always pack an extra set of shot shell holders that can be loaned out and I know a lot of others do, too.

There are places that cater to competition shooters popping up. You'll probably end up doing a good amount of purchasing online anyway.

    Good for jumping in.

There are a few Carbon Arms sponsored shooters who have loaner gear, and many that are not sponsored who do as well. MachineGunTours has some gear that will work for 3Gun, but the only shop that has a lot is Liberty FireArms Institute in Loveland. They carry our gear and have a demo of our CARBS belt which is selling like hotcakes.

If you have specific questions or want to try something out, let me know and I will be glad to help you out.

We do not carry holsters or mag carriers, but everything else. Shooters Source is another good resource that has everything (but not the CARBS): https://www.shooterssource.com/belts...equipment.html

Check out liberty firearms in Loveland. The purchasing manager is a 3gunner and keeps a pretty good list of items including shell caddies. Also brass pro carries safari land els belts.

thanks for the info, gents--i went to liberty firearms institute today--I had never been there--that is quite a setup they have.

I ended up talking to Wes (the purchasing manager in esaabye's post) for about 30 minutes--he was incredibly helpful, and I'd honestly say it was the single most pleasant experience i've ever had in a gun store in the past 28 years.

    OK, tek-lok, or ELS?
