I guess I have to OC my Gerber's, realize now they are 3.6-3.7" depending on who measures.

The edge is only 3.5", that's what counts right?

So, is carrying one in a car considered concealed? Or is this another stupid, poorly written (un-banned) law?

If the pocket clip shows, is it still concealed?

Yes. there's a local place to shop i know of.

They are NOT legal to buy yet.

Everybody on the internet carries them though and probably always have.

Not true. They're legal to purchase for ones collection. just not carry. It's been that way for years.

Bristlecone in Lakewood has them and has for a while. Not going to spew legalities, but Kazoo is correct.
I know they have Benchmade, maybe others.

I look at the statutes and I dont see where it says its OK to have them at home. I know that is the common belief, and I really dont care if you have a tank at home, I just cant see the legality in the text. Show me..

18-12-102. Possessing a dangerous or illegal weapon – affirmative defense

(1) As used in this section, the term “dangerous weapon” means a firearm silencer, machine gun, short shotgun, short rifle, or ballistic knife.

(2) As used in this section, the term “illegal weapon” means a blackjack, gas gun, metallic knuckles, gravity knife, or switchblade knife.

(3) A person who knowingly possesses a dangerous weapon commits a class 5 felony. Each subsequent violation of this subsection (3) by the same person shall be a class 4 felony.

(4) A person who knowingly possesses an illegal weapon commits a class 1 misdemeanor.

(e) “Gravity knife” means any knife that has a blade released from the handle or sheath thereof by the force of gravity or the application of centrifugal force.

(j) “Switchblade knife” means any knife, the blade of which opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring, or other device in its handle.

I'm a collector, not carrying them. It's not illegal to collect items, a few which are not legal to have in ones possession or use, in public. BB guns are an example. I can buy them almost any store that carries sporting goods. However it's illegal to discharge them in a residential or other public areas.


GAS GUN. These are considered a Gas Gun yet again. Available where other sporting goods are sold.
