Hello Everyone,
I am looking for a list of metal yards in the Front Range.
I live in Castle Rock, so the closer the better!
I am needing some 3/16" sheet for a skid plate build on my truck, and have some other projects in the future.
Thanks!

If you're unarmed, you are a victim
K&K, DenCol and Alreco for aluminum. ^^
All up north of you though.
Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.
We used to take scrap to Barters years ago, dunno if they're still there. They used to sell odds and ends as well.

I order all my basic steel from PDM or Dencol. Specialty stuff like my stainless I order from Ryerson, and as said before, Alreco for anything aluminum. I've ordered some stuff from metal super market over in wheat ridge and they have actually gotten me odd ball stuff in the small quantities that I needed that some of the other guys didn't want to deal with.
It is better to die on your feet then to live on your knees.
Dencol is stupid expensive for steel, but they can do a LOT with the machines they have. (We use them for laser cut tabs). If you have them cutting material, their labor prices and time frames make it worth it, but for just buying steel, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere. Your wallet will thank you.
Hinton Steel in Denver is my go to for just sticks and plates. They have the best prices I have found, and if you're going to buy a fair amount of steel, they'll work with you on the price. (I've bought nearly 50K lbs of structural steel in the last 6 months. They know me by name...)
Altitude Steel has a "scrap" pile that they sell by the pound. Pretty cheap if you just need some parts. They have plate, tube, pipe, and other scraps very frequently.
Revelation Steel in Greeley is also a good option, but is further than you're looking at.
And yes, ALRECO for aluminum. Hands down.

I had a relative that worked at Dencol and I used to get stuff really cheap there. Even had it cut to the sizes I needed. Not sure if they do that for just any order or if I was getting a "brother in law" deal. Also got some pre cut gussets from them for a project once. Saved me a lot of cutting.
I get steel from them from time to time. Usually 1 cut per unit is free, then there is a charge for additional cuts. I had 'em cut 20 foot sections in half to facilitate transport, no charge.
