    Default Outdoor Range?

Tried searching for a similar thread with no success. Just moved to the area for from FL and wanted to get some opinions on some of the local ranges. I prefer shooting outdoors where it's not as crowded and you can run some drills. Any one have any recommendations? I read you can go into the national forests and shoot as long as you follow their rules which seem pretty common sense, but is it really that much of a free range, where you can go and just shoot without getting harassed? Any insight would be appreciated.

    Welcome to COAR15, Miller.

Colorado Rifle Club is a cool place. It's in Byers, a bit of a drive, but I think you would enjoy the range.

www.blgc.org Shoot whatever you want, set up all the targets you want, rarely anybody else near you, run all the drills you want, just don't leave trash. Minimal rules, mainly common sense and consideration for others. Lots of space, lots of ranges, lots of portajohns, clubhouse, restrooms, showers, kitchen, camping, RV parking......love the place!

While there are a number of places with "Berms" that would allow for the purposes of "running drills" be aware that many of them do not allow for movement and require static shooting at a target down range. Or might otherwise require some sort of club certification before allowing you to do movement drills.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll look into all of them. Now I spoke with LE and I'm able to bring all of my magazines with me since I am moving to the state from a "free" state. Now are any of the ranges going to give me a hard time for using a 30rd mag? Just want to be prepared if so.

Glad to hear it, I hate mag cap bans and sounds like a good number of you all do too!

Hey, honestly....the other thing about your magazines...... don't forget to get some scissors and cut out your address from the back page. Don't want anyone to know where you live, and all.
