Flooring advice needed for basement floor.

Time to carpet, or put some kind of flooring down in the granddaughter's basement room. Looking for recommendations/advice for carpet and installer, or some other type of flooring/covering.

It's a cement basement floor, carpet tack strip already laid from previous carpet (water damage took the old carpet out).

Approx. 11' x 12', plus a bit for small closet.

Not picky about color, type, etc. Just need floor covered and preferably something that will help keep her feet warm!

Is there some other type of floor covering we should consider for a cement basement floor?

Not much $$$, so trying to keep this as economical as possible...

Totally this. If water came, it will likely come again (learned this the hard way). Get a remnant piece for a quick fix that will serve the purpose. Or go with a more permanent solution like a water proof vinyl floor. Lifeproof or something similiar.

Not sure where this may fall in your budget, but I have this on a couple of cement floors.

With a razor knife and a straight edge, this is the fastest easiest floor I have ever put down. If it gets wet you just take it up, let it dry, and reinstall.
Chair, table, bed legs do sink into it though.
Soft and warm to walk on.
