Nope.

If I had uninterrupted cable TV coverage of the event, and lived in middle-of-nowhere South Pacific? I guess that might prove interesting.

However, I don't own a TV and I live in the midst of humanity. As such, no, I don't wish for that at all. I lived in South Florida in 2004 for three hurricane impacts on my town (Stuart, FL), excrement, to a degree, hit the Westinghouse, it's not fun. I lived through Marcos declaring martial law in the Philippines in the early 70's. It's not fun, not even a little. My wife was living in Jakarta in '97 when the financial collapse there happened and Suharto was shown the door. Other members here can speak on that topic as well but no, not remotely something to look forward to and the reset isn't guaranteed.

The rampant SHTF fantasies on online forums tend to assume that only "other" people are going to suffer during societal woes. Unless you have a Gulfstream fueled up to wisk you out of the country (and ample space for the pilots extended family as well...), and large sums of money to bribe every single official en route to the airport, "other" is every one of us.

But, having said that, I do look forward to cable TV coverage of all the prepared folks living in the mountains in February out of their Maxpedition go-bag with five ESEE fixed blade knives and 2 miles worth of green paracord.
