Exactly. Anymore, it is either adding the correct hardware or just 'activating' these premium options.

Mine's automatic, just depends on what the temp control is set to and the outside temp. Cold out, heat comes on - hot out, ac comes on. But the heated seats is a menu setting you have to turn on or off.

I recently added a smart plug that is setup in my Home Automation to turn on below a certain temp, and turn off above a certain temp. Just keep my truck plugged in and the automation takes care of the rest.

It's not a daily driver, so I'm usually loading things into it to go somewhere and it's plenty warm by the time I finish farting around and need to drive it.

I was gifted a basic Viper remote start a few years ago and decided to re-gift it so it never did get installed.

On the HA setup, I'm going to work on it some more to also only come on at deeper temps if I'm away from the house, and perhaps change it up a little depending on my location. I just need to get better with stringify. I can always just turn it on remotely at will too.

I know this is an older thread, but I bought a factory oem remote start from eBay in November for a Mazda and installed it. It was priced at about half what the local dealer wanted and took about an hour to install. Just another option to consider.

My remote start didn’t work. Car still turns on with key.

Ah, thought it was all dead. In that case, likely a bad connection somewhere.

Possibly. Just got it 2 months ago. Gonna take it in see what’s up

Yeah, that's a bummer. Defeats the purpose if it doesn't work when it gets cold.
