Mac Shack, in Boulder, might be able to help.

Some updates on additional stuff I tried last night. Now I am stuck at my sons wrestling club away from that phone.

Downloaded a free Iphone manager on a Win8 machine, it could not find the phone. The Win8 machine did not show any device attached to the usb port.

Tried to download an iphone manager on a Linux machine. Running puppy linux, ubuntu on an old netbook from a flash drive. (Don't laugh, puppy makes the netbook usable and I really love the form factor and weight.) Could not get it to work/show up with that software since I am a linux noob. The phone did not show and could not be mounted.

Wife has an macbook air. I tunes will not update it.
Note: she bought some software to try and get the pics off the phone about 4 months ago. The software did not work and has since expired.

I will talk to a member later today and see if he has any magic I can use.
If that fails this thing is dead dead and good only for parts.

Somewhat related.... my iPhone SE upgraded the latest OS.

That was a mistake. Apps didn't work, phone randomly re-booted, battery draining, getting hot.

Went to Apple store in Boulder, waited 50-minutes for a tech (they call them 'Geniuses') so I got food, shopped, etc. during the wait.

Turns out the latest OS was broken, took the Apple dudes ~15 minutes to get me fixed an on my way. Store was jammed with people with same problem.

Moral of the story: go to an Apple store if you can. They're good.
