Default What exactly do I have here? Sig p228 with build in laser

My father in law gave me a pistol and I'm having trouble figuring exactly what it is. I've did a bunch of googling but can't find anything like it. It's a sig P228 with a laser built into the slide. There are no batteries in it so I'm not sure how it works, batteries are on order. I'm not really into lasers on pistols, or in general but I'll check it out when the batteries arrive. I'm curious what I have on my hands though. There are what look like copper connectors at the top of the frame that connect to similar connectors on the slide. The front of the slide has a laser built into it. Any info on this pistol would be appreciated.

I found a receipt at the bottom of the box just now from when he had an SRT installed. The trigger actually sucks compared to the SRT on a newer P229 that I have. The receipt is dated 1993 so I'm guessing they've improved the SRT since then. Have to assume this thing was made before 1993.

I found an older post on armslist where someone is selling one of these for $3900. I know armslist can't be taken at face value. Is this guy for real? The pistol in the image on the posting has a second lense that mine doesn't seem to have, guessing mine doesn't have the IR.

I've done more searching. It's called a Wilcox Nightstalker. Once the batteries for the laser show up I'll take it out for a test drive or two. This pistol seems to be pretty uncommon, it'll probably spend most of it's time in the safe. A pretty cool gift though. It's not the kind of thing you put on the mantle, not really sure what to do with it.

The armslist posting I linked to seems to be a scam, I've seen the same pictures in a couple of forums.

That's some fascinating '90's technology there.

Funny. Sorta the Betamax of the grip activated lasers. Fairly refined for the time.
