I've been using "Foraging the Rocky Mountains: Finding, Identifying, and preparing Edible Wild Foods in the Rockies" by Lizbeth Morgan for a little over 2 years now and have been more than impressed with it. This book is specific to the Rocky Mountain regions of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexica, Idaho, etc. The descriptions are very detailed of each plant while also listing lookalikes and poisonous ones that can be confused with one another. Pictures are very detailed and close up so it's easy to identify what you are finding. While most of the book is on what is edible, each plant is also given a recipe for it that the author has tried and used. Among a few of the plants listed, medical uses are also listed but not many. This is a great starter book to foraging and used in combination with other books. Highly recommend it.
