Yup, Leon Trotsky, as I recall. One of my favorite presidents was "do nothing" Calvin Coolidge. Dems are all about endless legislation and rules they favor. We have all heard about the average law-abiding citizen probably violating dozens of laws they don't even know about, probably not counting removing the mattress tags. I think one of the best thing Trump has done is eliminating tons of regs/rules in the Federal Register - that crap just increases.
I have been thinking about the advantages the libs have worked for and accumulated over the years - packing the courts with extreme and leftist judges, taking control of all levels of public education, controlling the overwhelming bulk of the print and TV media, allowing corruption of our voting processes, and taking control of the internet and social media. Pretty darn overwhelming. When you couple that with the average American's apathy and easy-to-make emotional arguments vs more difficult fact-based arguments that our side tries to make, its a pretty difficult ship to get turned around. I don't believe my elected officials pay attention to my calls and letters, partially because they don't view me as their constituent, but also because I advocate for policies they have proven to not support. Not sure where things are headed, but it looks grim to me.
