I needed to make reservations on Reserve America. To complete "enrollment" for an account I already damn had, I just used my passport.

Hunting legally in Colorado = too many hoops to jump through plus too much $ spent to be enjoyable.

Easiest method is to use your CID number off you hunter education card or previous license. I had to renew my drivers license a few months ago and the registration process on the new site only took me a couple of minutes. If you don't have access to your CID number or an old tag, then you are required to call the DOD to login. Pretty smooth and easy but this new process will hurt the chance of drawing trophy unit tags that require multiple points especially for moose, big horn etc from not having to pay the entire amount. It'll open up a lot more people that will apply now. Just how I see it.

Can't even access the site right now. Shouldn't all these hunters be at work!

I did ours this past weekend. The site always got borked on the old platform, so I assumed the new site would be even worse so I made sure I did it ahead of time. With all the applications being $3 now I imagine the application numbers will sky rocket. Will be interesting to see the draw numbers after it is all said and done.

I got mine done this morning and was impressed with how easy it was. Can't say I'm happy about the simple $3 application fee instead of the full amount but oh well.

I had the same surprisingly easy experience. I felt the same way about only paying for points up front, but the fact that you give a credit card number (wish they took AMEX!) and they immediately charge you if you drew might help to deter everyone in the world from putting in.

It's down to the wire now. I like the new system and encountered no glitches this time, but it took longer because even with the CID #, one has to set up an account with a password. Also, the brochures and statistics tables took a long time to load. Glad I did it Friday.

This year I put in for buck deer and pronghorn, cow elk, bull moose, bighorn ram, and bear. In July, I'll also pick up an over the counter bull elk tag, and a bear tag if I don't draw one.

I might get lucky on moose as this is my 19th consecutive year applying.... Maybe that big bull will saunter through our yard again so I won't have to pack it farther than the kitchen for butchering.

Good luck and good hunting everyone!
