Picked up some doe tags.. took forever and 90% of my patience
Grabbed a couple doe whitetail tags out at my buddies place so hopefully they actually ship them out.
That was a cluster....had multiple tags in 2 different carts for my wife and I, and either quota not available or spinning wheel of death.... but persistence paid off.
Still didn’t get the pronghorn tags I wanted though....
So, is the Thursday OTC sale going to be just as bad? Would like to get an Elk archery tag.
Website Crashed and missed getting tags for kids, especially daughter who needs one. Something may show up yet.
Got a leftover either sex Elk tag Tuesday, and an Over-the-counter Bear tag today (private land only on both)
This was so much easier than messing with the draw.
I bought bear and bull elk tags today, to go with the cow elk and bull moose tags. Looks like I'll be hunting through most of October.
I've been scouting for moose lately. I saw three bulls and the cow and calf in one day. Still haven't found THE bull I want. I've seen him, just don't know where he's at now.

How many days into the season will you decide to open up your options on lesser males?
"There are no finger prints under water."
That's a good question. I'm thinking with 14 days to hunt, I might take a younger bull at 10 or 11 days, and be thankful. I'm working to make contacts with private landowners for permission to hunt their properties, and with friends and people I meet to relay info about bulls they see. Maybe that will pay off.
Even though I'm pretty strong and in decent shape my limitation is more than age (67). Like Rondog I have multiple spinal issues with acute pain, so it's pretty hard on me to go long distance. Several days of 2-5 mile walks can be killer. But I'm going to tough it out, and hopefully find a good bull not too far from a road. A couple fellows have offered to help me pack meat if they can. Lots of things could happen to influence the outcome. I will persevere and hope for the best.
Today I walked ~1.5 miles at 10,700 ft. Didn't happen to see a moose. I have to practice moose calling.![]()
