So, back to my question, is it a problem that the habitat stamp is not displayed on the small game license? My old one had it on there, but it was also my first license of the year when I got it.

Did not read the whole thread, but do you have a capital "H" in the upper right corner of your license? If so, you are good to go.
I'll need to look when I get home.

Mark is correct, the system won't allow you to buy a license without also purchasing the habitat stamp, unless you're over 65 when you don't need one.
The only time I've ever been checked in the field was three years ago while hunting pronghorn outside of Hayden. The wildlife officer was a real peach and helped me drag my buck the last 500 yards. He also connected me with a nearby landowner so I could hunt private land in the future.
Man, I guess I've just been lucky to not been searched by the King's minions so often, but it was always in camp, not in the field. That would seriously piss me off.

Curious - when do they announce whether you get a thumbs-up or the finger for your tag application?
