    Default OTC Antelope

Sooooo I have been playing with my bow a lot, and want to give archery antelope a shot. Looking at the CPW maps, the grasslands are not on the allowable unit list, and I do not see any other units that have a chunk of public where I remember seeing antelope. I have hunted Antelope for years, and I think the shortest shot I have ever taken one was 300 ish yards, but I might give the decoy head thing a try. Getting one in close enough for a bow shot would be pretty cool.

    Any GMU recommendations?

Anyone have private land that my buddy and I could crawl around in cactus for a while? PM me if you do.

Tons of Antelope in all of that gray area to the East of I25, I see a ton of them down near the New Mexico border. There are a lot up in the Walden area and out west towards Craig and so on but those don't appear to be OTC units. Walsenberg area Maybe the Commanche National Grassland? Don't know what the regs are down there. A lot of them and Forest Service Land between Ft Collins and the Wyoming border as well.

Here is an interactive BLM map for Colorado, there is a lot more public land out there than you think. Start clicking on squares and blotches and if in doubt call the managing field office.

I shot all of my "close range" Pronghorn down in the SE corner, 120s and 140s units. I had a business card with my name, phone number, truck make and model and I would literally door knock. Farmers tend to hate Pronghorn and with archery gear, I was rarely turned down. I never drove in their fields and I did not leave gut piles in the field either. I went on weekdays mostly.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

Actually you can get them at High Fence Farms in Texas, Zoos and Africa. Colorado has Pronghorn, technically not an Antelope.
