    Default Mossberg AR-22

Anyone have personal experience with this make and model?

Reviews online were mixed. Some had good experiences and no jamming, others reported repeated jamming issues.

Extra mags can be expensive, if you get the mossberg AR mock ups. If using standard Mossberg magazines, they can be a pain to manipulate.

Personally, I'd go with S&W (read up on current issues with them) or a dedicated 22LR AR upper.

The Colt branded Walther M4 Clones are ok, but not as accessory friendly a S&W, and again, expensive mags. They do have an A2 clone, though.

If you go Mossberg, I ma know someone selling a used one.

Is this the one where it doesn't even have AR internals and they just crammed their other semi .22 parts into an AR veneer? Or was that an earlier model?

I read that the S&W M&P's 15-22's were banned from Appleseed due to a jamming issue that caused it to fire repeatedly.

Plus another $150 on top of $272 is pretty expensive for a .22. not sure I want to drop that much money later this summer.

There were apparently several issues with the 15-22 at appleseed events. I have 2 and have had no issues after a few thousand rounds.

Without info on what might have been done to those specific rifles, it seems a bit reactionary to not get one of the best AR-style 22 rifles on the market.

A quick google of "10/22 firing out of battery" reveals plenty of results.

    So does "mossberg ar-22 problems"

Here's info on the official appleseed site from a big wig w/ them:

I have a 15-22 and with one of the mags that I have it had issues. It's also picky about some ammo. Most semi auto .22 rifles that I've had are kinda hit or miss though. The only one that's been 100% reliable for me is the MP5 replica that Walther put out. I'm pretty sure if you googled "issue with __________" you'll find results. There probably isn't a single make and model out there that hasn't jammed up on someone at some point. Also that "camo" pattern is giving me a seizure.

You already have a 22 cal AR. Go get a Marlin 60 or 795 for 22lr and spend the left over $100 on ammo.

Yup, it's a mossberg 702 dressed up scary. I've got a 702. It's been decent (for the price, $100 at a pawn shop), but it took some tinkering, and the mags are very cheaply made.
