    Default Tire installation/balance

I thought there was a post on here about this, but couldn't find anything. I just ordered some tires online, and am looking for a good (reasonably priced) place to have them mounted and balanced, preferably in the Littleton area. I typically buy from discount, but changed it up this time, and I'm not sure how the industry is about installing tires from a third party. Who do ya'll use? Thanks!

    go to Tires Plus.

also ask for the lifetime alignment plan. As long as you own the vehicle, you pay a one time fee and you get as many alignments as you need. Worth the money on these roads as you need at least two alignments a year here.

Thanks for the recommendation, especially on the lifetime alignment. I used to go through Firestone for the lifetime, but I heard they stopped doing it, and with the weekend wheeling I do in the summer, it's almost mandatory.

I took my last set of Tirerack tires to Discount and they mounted without any questions. I've also had them swap and balance tires and wheels that I bought off Craigslist. I don't think they are the highest quality tire shop but they are a block from my house.

Most chains will do this for a nominal fee.

Some won't on tires older than 5 years old or with low tread.

I've had Big O refuse to mount a set of new car take-off tires that had less than 1000 miles on them, claiming they had too much cupping. There was nothing wrong with them, and they went about 40k miles after being mounted at another shop.

I've mounted my own for a long time. I can balance some smaller car tires, truck tires I mount and then take to Peerless to have 'em balanced.

I did a set of car tires once with a homemade bead breaker and two bars. Also done probably a half dozen motorcycle tires and one set of ATV tires.

You guys won’t catch me doing any of that stuff these days.

Fortunately, I know a kid with access to a tire machine and balancer that likes to make a little cash on the side and works cheap.
