Default Phoenix Weaponry in Longmont, CO

I had the pleasure of going to Phoenix Weaponry in Longmont today to get some info on adding an integrated suppressor to my new M&P 15-22.

    https://www.phoenixweaponry.com/

Jim, Jeremy and Matt were very professional, polite, courteous and extremely knowledgeable and informative.

They explained options, limitations, capabilities, performance and decibel levels of suppressors and integrating it into my 15-22. They also have a guy on hand to do Duracoating and Cerakoting to match the Muddy Girl paint scheme.

The suppressor will duracoated to match the rifle.

We also discussed suppressor options for my handgun and AR-15.

I was also greeted by a friendly pup of an unknown breed, but had a white an black coat and spots. He licked my hand and nuzzled up against my leg as his way of saying hello and welcome.

I will be going back in a few weeks to start the process and fill out the ATF Form 4 and submit the fee, photos and fingerprints for a suppressor.

Top notch customer service and very impressed with their knowledge. A+

Are you buying a commercial can or they building 1 for you? IF they're building it, i suggest you see the actual completed item before paying.

That goes for any place offering their "custom in house" suppressors and or firearms. NEVER prepay for an as of yet item not on the shelf.

I don't pay for anything but the stamp until we have an ATF approval. Then I go in and take the rifle in and they'll assemble everything and duracoat the suppressor, pistol grip and rear stock.

This will be a custom built. I want a can with a smooth finish not the knurled finish.

This way I can keep a hold of my rifle until I get my stamp.

What he's saying, is that the best way to get burned is to pay for something that isn't already built, especially in the NFA game.

Not certain on how hot a 22 can gets, but duracoat is only good for 500ish degrees F.

Just out of curiosity, why go with a custom integral suppressor instead of one of the many proven 1/2-28 threaded cans all ready made for rimfire?

because aesthetics are just as important to me as performance and function.

I'm OCD with details like that and I want a clean, elite and integrated look, without a barrel being visible between the handguard and the suppressor. That just drives me insane looking at it. I want it to look like it belongs there and was made that way.

Fair enough, your money to spend as you like.

Just as a second thought, why not just buy a second 15-22 barrel and have the work done on it and just swap it in when done instead of turning your whole rifle over to the smith? I don't own a 15-22 so I am ASSUMING that the barrel is held in with a nut similar to a standard AR config.

There are some outstanding photos of SBR'd 15-22's with suppressors on the net, but that would cost another stamp. Depending on what this custom work costs, that may be a viable alternative or not.

Keep in mind you will have to clean it also, a sealed can is a no-no for a 22.
