    Default Archery Hunting Unit 104

I got permission from a guy to archery hunt on some land he was buying before the draw. I drew a tag and after he closed the deal he decided he did not want people hunting there just yet.
I drew an either sex archery deer tag for unit 104, 105,106. If any one knows of a place I could stand hunt Pm Me. I am not a trophy hunter I am looking for a good healthy buck or doe that comes by to fill the freezer. White tail deer preferred, I do not get much time to hunt so any time to give a try would be great.

No idea to your actual question, but that dude sounds like a dick head. A man's word is his honor.

Good luck finding whitetails. They're out there, but definitely in the minority. I've eaten two whitetail only tags, never saw anything but mulies. Which I'd prefer anyway, but didn't have mulie tags.....

I grew up in 104/105 and we used to see whitetails a lot near Spring Valley golf course in that creek bottom but I haven't seen them in well over a decade. Only ones I've scene in the last few years have been well east of Kiowa in creek bottoms and I've only scene a couple. They were selling over the counter tags for 104 last year for a walk in area but I never got around to go scout the area. I'd go glass on your days off and ask permission on ranches if you can. Hard to hunt out there now as a lot of the land is leased to outfitters but there are still places that you can hunt if you know them or get permission.

I drew archery tag either sex, any deer from what I see the tag is good for October 1-26 November 7-30 and December 15-31 There is only one hunt code next to all three dates. I'm not being selective on the breed of deer but WT is the flavor I like best. Im good with either one. I'm usually slammed with work during hunting season so I thought this would give me plenty of time to get a chance at putting in a few days. real bummer is I lost a point getting this tag. Really 2 points if I would have drew a point this round. But hey I get it. Hes a city guy trying to impress some folks with the new ranch and he promised several to hunt. Guess I was on the short list. I figure I'd give it a try here before I turn in the tag.

I usually just hunt Eads Co area for deer and get a couple WT doe tags as leftover. I thought this would have been a good chance to go archery season and be closer to home. I am a preferred archery hunter but out east it's pretty tough with no cover.
