Hey, folks. I live in Colorado Springs. Any suggestions to where one could go within 1 - 1.5 hours of the Springs? Thanks! Prefer not jacks as I heard the meat is gnarly.

Bunnies are easy and plentiful around Colorado Springs. Just east of Fountain is Turkey Tracks wildlife area. Hunt at dawn or dusk when they move around. Hunting any other time of day any you will probably see none. On cold days in the mountains they are active just until the sun enters the area in the morning. In some places this is 1-2 hours after sunrise. Same goes for valley bottoms in the mountains. Works for areas around Divide, Woodland Park, Lake George, etc.

I live smack dang in the middle of Denver. We don't hardly have rabbits or... ...SQUIRREL!

My yard is the size of a postage stamp. Why is winter eating better?

After a hard frost there is less chance of the rabbit carrying tularemia. The frost also tends to kill off botfly larvae.

+1, good hard freeze for us. All mentioned above + ticks, mites and other nasties.

We complain if not hunting rabbits by Thanksgiving.

Scared the hell out of my wife about 3 weeks ago. Saw one in front of the truck while I was leaving for work, so I Glock'd him. Apparently there needs to be a gunfire warning at 6:45am.
