I just shoot em in the yard year round. No eating them until winter though.

After a hard frost there is less chance of the rabbit carrying tularemia. The frost also tends to kill off botfly larvae.

+1, good hard freeze for us. All mentioned above + ticks, mites and other nasties.

We complain if not hunting rabbits by Thanksgiving.
