Default Piece of tape over your rifle barrel

I've seen professional hunters like Steven Rinella that keep a piece of duct tape over their rifle barrel while hunting to keep all the crud out. They just shoot through the tape and report zero accuracy issues. Could you still do that with a suppressor? I imagine the physics would be similar to a neoprene wipe. Do you think there is any danger, physical or legal, of putting tape over your can to keep junk out?

Cheap rubber condoms will do the job.

I always wrap a piece of scotch tape over the muzzle when hunting. It works and is a whole lot better than getting snow or mud in the barrel when out in the field.

I don’t see how it could possibly be a problem.

Thanks. I'll be sure to try it when I actually get my cans.

I’ve got some extra BCA barrels if you want a tier 6 test. Make sure to use dollar store duct tape for the full low cost test experience.

I'm not worried about damaging a rifle barrel, I was specifically asking about using tape over a can.

I've never tried taping over my can.... especially in case of emergency.

Discovered, too late, the house guest didn't put a new roll of toilet paper in the dispenser.....

And when the wife finds them in your hunting bag “Honest honey, they are for my rifle barrel to keep the crud out”...... That will go over good.

l?ve shot through several AR plastic muzzle caps with no ill effects at the range.
