Drew my last Deer option, a whitetail only archery hunt, same tag I hunted last year as a left over tag that I purchased a week or two before thanksgiving. At least its a long hunt consisting of October 1-25, November 6-30 and December 15-31.. Will have to try to actually do some scouting ahead of time instead of going in blind this year.
The only whitetail I saw on my hunt last year was this:
PP deer and got my elk tag. Now to get back in shape for the 7 mile hike back in to camp.
I put on 7 (total) the day one in our party harvested. Packing that out was a bitch. First trip out was a hind quarter on my shoulder. Then we got the packs.Originally Posted by jslo

Please don't ever do that again without a pack. A shoulder maybe, but you'll get to be a broken down old guy with a bad back all too soon.
As expected I drew cow elk and buck pronghorn but am disappointed I didn't get a deer license. I knew my first choice deer would get me a PP, but nothing for 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices. Also PP's for elk and cow moose. I'll pick up bull elk and bear licenses when they go on sale in August.
In the combined seasons we go armed with multiple licenses and high hopes of filling them all but that seldom happens. Fortunately it's rare that I go home without at least one big game animal in any year. I didn't see an elk during season last fall so I dearly want one this year.

Wow you go in far. I have always been too worried about getting anything back out if I got anything that far in. But I typically hunt with just another person.
Anyone receive your physical tag(s) yet? My son and I are still waiting on ours....
Got mine yesterday. Now I just need to turn them back in. lol.
