    Default Application Deadline Approaching

Five weeks until deadline. Also haven't seen a discussion on the $50 preference point fee for moose, goat and sheep on top of the tag increases. Will have to think a little harder whether I'm willing to pay a few hundred dollars more for the privilege to hunt these 3 species.

After the politics of this state and the way the DOW is running things, I'm done hunting here and moving soon.

Sucks to have to pay the additional fees, but gotta pay if I want to play.

Just the point fees coupled with app fees, both R and NR combined, will generate >$10m this year over last year. You know, gotta help out those Parks folks........

eta- this will be year 32 for me trying to get a bull moose tag, I'm in it till the end.

Common sense is a punishment for having to deal with those who don't have it.

What part of a bull moose tastes better than on a cow moose?

After 32 points, how much does another point increase your odds of a successful draw?

There isn't a way to have 32 points, used to be lottery. I have 3 points and 18 weighted points in this current process. The first year I put in was 1988.

Another weighted point theoretically helps because your random generated number is inverted and converted and divided by weighted points plus 1. You want the lowest number at the end of the process per draw unit.

Goals are goals and a bull has always been mine.

What's with needing to buy a "qualifying license" like small game or spring turkey in order to apply for big game? Just another way to steal more money from us peasants or am I missing something?

The $50 tag thing I think is their new answer to everyone applying for every tag after making it only $3 or whatever it was to apply last year. If a ton of people still apply then it is even more money coming in for them. The requirement for small game or other tag in addition to Big Game I think is something other states do so it is another angle for them to grab at more money. I imagine these type of things will change year to year until they figure out the "new way" to do things since they went away with the old system that worked perfectly fine for a long time in my opinion.
