    Default Permits

My neighbor lady had a guy replace her electrical panel. I asked if it passed inspection. She said the guy told her he is not a Master Electrician so he doesn't need to pull a permit.

...oh. I wasn't aware that was how it worked.

Good thing I'm a cook, not a contractor.

I would at least hire a licensed electrician to check it out. Probably less than an hour and under $100.00 unless he has to fix stuff.

    Electricity is serious business.

UPDATE- She talked to him and he said it's okay. If she sells, it's up to the buyers agent. It's a real estate thing and they know what to do...

    ???

    Whew! Problem solved.
Except I have no idea what that means, but he seems like he knows what he's talking about.

The fire extinguisher sounds like a good idea. And maybe some asbestos pajamas.

Only if she says the electrical panel was upgraded. If she plays stupid, who knows what might happen.

If the guy was some shady CL find with as much knowledge as i have when it comes to upgrading a panel. Yeah, I'd probably get 2 second opinions.

The only upside is in today's market. So many people don't care, as long as they feel good paying more than asking price.

    Yikes!

The good thing about being stupid is that you don't know you're stupid.. there is some peace in that
