Laser engraving for thin stained wood

Folks,

Looking for some help with engraving a text art design into the dark stained top of a wood box. The lid is 12x9.5" or so, and the wood is about 0.1" thick.

Checked in with the guys at Damage Factory, but their laser engraver isn't set up for wood.

Can pay or exchange for CNC router work on my end - I'd route it myself, but I'm worried about grain tear-out.

Plan B is looking for sheet metal 12x9.5" or so and having the Damage Factory guys do it, or just chucking up a diamond drag bit in my router.

koebel library on Arapahoe has one. Did wood Christmas gift tags on it a couple years so. You can schedule appointments with them to have them walk through the project.
