There's just no way a single location, no matter how smart, can figure out what comfort level you want where you are at. It's a high end Honeywell tstat (no way I'd ever have Google Nest or Amazon Fire anything in this house) and works quite well. Still hard to get the bedroom upstairs cool enough on really hot nights (ceiling fan in reverse helps) so may try one of the powered vents too.
I have the (ecobee built?) Carrier Infinity system and can also run it from my phone or a desktop app. I could also run the desktop app in bluestacks if needed as I use it for a few other android apps to get them on my desktop.

Oddly, the mobile/desktop app doesn't work as well as the panel, like I couldn't do a filter reset from the app.
