No, my son's '17 is in stock mil. configuration. The barrel was backbored about 3 inches in and did not shoot, I had ChuckinDenver rebarrel it with a Criterion and the thing shoots extremely well.
Here's the deal with the safety: When the gun is cocked (on close), safety on, and trigger pulled, all is well. But when the gun is cocked, safety on, trigger pulled and the safety flicked off the striker or firing pin drops with force.
That doesn't seem right. I've had someone on the CMP board say theirs is the same, and a member on this board tell me I have an issue.
I ordered a new trigger, sear, cocking piece and a few other parts, I'll swap them in, see if it makes a difference and report back.
