Question In the market for a new EDC

I think the time has come that I replace my EDC (Kershaw CQC-3K). I love it and have carried it since 2014. It has been through hell and back and I only lost it once for a few months before my brother in law found it in his backyard when he was raking lol. It?s definitely a budget knife but it?s served me well. I?m looking to upgrade and wanted to see what other members are carrying.

    I?d prefer the following:
    Auto or assisted opening
    ~3.5? blade or less
    Non serrated
Not really putting a budget on it because I may pick up a couple of different ones along the way.

Benchmade seems to come up a lot during my search so I?ve been looking at the Freek, AFO, Triage and Auto-Stryker series. Any suggestions?

Here she is and all her glory:

Default In the market for a new EDC

I have been carrying the Zero Tolerance 0350 for a while now and love it. Tough as nails. I picked mine up here in the trading post and got a smoking deal on it. If I ever lose or destroy it I will definitely be replacing it with another one.

One of these has been on my want list for a couple of years now. I've heard nothing but good things about them, just wish that one came in black instead of OD.

Haven't even looked at the ZT but that looks nice.

I got one getting delivered today! Can't wait to play with it!

I have to say that I never knew what it was like to have a 'nice' knife. The benchmade boost is bigger than the Kershaw I was carrying and it feels like half the weight. Action is buttery smooth and it is EXTREMELY sharp.

Well I got a couple ordered today to see what I like, good thing for amazon prime! It must be a sign, because this happened today.

It’s happened before and I’m sure some of you know what I’m talking about. I was laying down on the couch, got up and it snagged on the cushion bending the pocket clip. I’ve always been able to bend it back but today it had enough and snapped when I tried to bend it back lol. I guess I can’t complain as it’s the only time it’s ever let me down.

I may or may not have went overboard. I had some amazon gift cards so I used those to offset a Benchmade Boost and Benchmade 940-2. I couldn?t decide if I wanted assisted opening or manual so I?ll see which one I like more and send back the other. My luck, I?ll love both and have to keep them lol. They will be here tomorrow.

I also had some visa gift cards so I used those to pickup a Benchmade AFO II, a Boker Kalashnikov Strike and a AKC OTF knife from BladeHQ. I held my brother in laws AFO II today and it was just a big, bad ass knife. The boker has been on my want list for as long as I can remember and the AKC was just because we can own them legally now.

You may or may not see a couple of things for sale...

I have the AKC OTF, mainly like you to experiment with the OTF. Works fine, but loses the slide too often to trust it as an EDC. It's also quite stiff to engage and retract. I'm also not impressed with the blade.

I'll really look hard at my next one, as I love the concept, but really need to trust it for EDC. If they all lose the slide, then I just will never be able to trust them and will need a "locking" mechanism, even if I have to give up the automatic, out the front.
